PM Nawaz to visit China on Tuesday to attend Boao forum

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014, the foreign office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said during her weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.

The conference will be held in Boao, south China’s Hainan Province from April 8 to 11 and will carry the theme “Asia’s New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers”.

It features discussions on the global financial situation, financial cooperation among Asian nations, infrastructure connectivity, Asian free trade and multilateral trade systems among others.

The world leaders who will attend the four-day conference include the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmeto, Prime Minister of South Korea Chung Hongwon, Prime Minister of Laos Thongsing Thammavong, Prime Minister of Namibia Hage Geingob, Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of East Timor Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich and Vice Prime Minister of Vietnam Vu Duc Dam.

The Boao Forum for Asia is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2001 with the mission of bringing Asian nations closer to their economic development goals.
