ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled to visit Pakistan from October 4-6 at the invitation of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

This will be the third leadership level visit from Belarus and second by Alexander Lukashenko in 16 months, said a Foreign Office statement.

The Belarusian President is accompanied by deputy prime minister and five ministers including ministers for foreign affairs, industry, agriculture, education, taxation and revenue besides other high level officials.

Apart from official talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Belarusian President will hold meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain. A number of important agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit.

Prime Minister Sharif and President Lukashenko will inaugurate the Fourth Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum on Wednesday.

A 23-member strong business delegation from Belarus is already in Pakistan to explore mutual beneficial business opportunities through business to business deals with Pakistani counterparts.

Bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belarus have progressed at a rapid pace over the last two years.

This visit is reflective of these growing ties and will provide impetus to further expanding bilateral relations in a range of areas including political, economic, trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
