EuropeBBC is influenced by propaganda of pro-Taliban forces: Sattar

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has claimed that BBC has been influenced by the propaganda of pro-Taliban forces.

Sattar was speaking to Jeremy Paxman at BBC’s program New Night that spotlighted allegations of Imran Farooq murder and money laundering against MQM chief Altaf Hussain in a 19-mintue documentary.

“By making such a documentary the BBC seems to be influenced by pro-Taliban forces,” said the MQM’s Deputy Convenor who appeared defensive against Paxman’s relentless scrutiny.

“It’s just because of a malicious propaganda and a media trail going on against a secular and working class party.”

Sattar denied Altaf Hussain’s words of packing people in a Bori (body bag) after the host showed recordings of the MQM chief’s past speeches.

Sattar admits that ‘some money was seized’ in police raid on MQM chief’s home in London. However, said that “whatever was found, let’s not make it a media trial, I won’t answer about it, only investigations can reveal.”
