No backchannel talks under way between govt, PTI: Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: There are no backchannel talks under way between the federal government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the prime minister’s special assistant on national affairs Irfan Siddiqui said in a telephone interview with media on Saturday.

Irfan Siddiqui further said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s demand for the dissolution of the election commission was absurd.

The special assistant said that Pakistan has a constitution and laws and all demands made by any individual or party must go through that sieve otherwise it will become the law of the jungle in the country.
