Baku, Azerbaijan: The Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Said Khan Mohmond has said that Baku and Islamabad are working to establish close cooperation in the military sphere.

In a interview released in Azerbaijan media, Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Said Khan Mohmond was of the view that visit of Chief of Pakistan Air Force Sohail Aman to Azerbaijan was a success.

He maintained that Pakistan and Azerbaijan also cooperate in the field of military training and a number of delegations of Pakistani military visited Azerbaijan for training purposes in recent past. He indicated that another high-level meeting is expected between experts of both the countries.

“We always support Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council and other platforms. We provide Azerbaijan with political, diplomatic and moral support, “said ambassador Said Mohmand.

He informed media that the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Pakistan had adopted a resolution condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.

The ambassador expressed hope that the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be resolved in the near future.

It is pertinent to mention that Azerbaijan has shown its interest to buy Pakistan-made JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and also wanted to buy light weaponry from Pakistan.
