QUETTA: Nawab Aslam Raisani’s Balochistan government that was suspended on January 14, now stands restored as a two-month period of governor’s rule imposed in the restive province expired at 12:00 AM (March 14, 2013), Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Thursday.

According to constitution experts, a joint sitting of the parliament is required to endorse extension for the governor rule, which was imposed by the president, invoking article 234 of the Constitution for two months in the aftermath of Alamdar road bombing.

A meeting was held between the Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi and Aslam Raisani to hash over the situation after the end of governor rule and the reinstatement of his government in the largest province of Pakistan, sources said.

Meanwhile, Raisani has called all the Parliamentary leaders from the political parties that form the coalition government to join heads in Islamabad today (Thursday, March 14).

The Balochistan Assembly will complete its tenure on April 5. Federal minister Israrullah Zehri on Wednesday said Aslam Raisani would nominate caretaker chief minister.
