PakistanAround 45 terrorist organizations are operating in Pakistan: Nisar

TAXILA, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that around 45 different terrorist organizations are operating in Pakistan and these keep on changing their names.

However, he emphatically denied the presence of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or Islamic State (IS) in Pakistan, adding that it is a North African Middle Eastern organization.

The minister made these remarks while addressing a press conference in Taxila district of Rawalpindi on Tuesday after he launched Rescue 1122 service there.

The interior minister also inspected the construction work at Taxila hospital.

In his remarks on the occasion, Nisar urged media not to mention names of terrorist organizations. He said that terrorists are on the run.

“We will eliminate the terrorism in the Country and make Pakistan a peaceful country,” he said.

Earlier, the interior minister launched Rs14 million Rescue 1122 service in Taxila, aimed at to provide emergency medical and firefighting services to the local population.

On February 11, the Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Nafeez Zakaria in response to Chief of Intelligence Bureau’s (IB) statement in which he said that there was an emerging threat of ISIS in Pakistan also told reporters that there was no organized presence of Islamic State in the country.
