Azerbaijan, Baku: The Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan has claimed that Armenian army violated ceasefire 82 times in a single day.
According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan and distributed through AzerTag (AZerTaj) News Agency, the Minister of Decence of Azerbaijan has said the Armenian armed forces continue to violate the ceasefire regime.
“The Azerbaijani armed forces came under fire from large-caliber machine guns 82 times throughout the day,” said the statement issued by the ministry.
“The army`s positions also came under fire from the Armenia-occupied districts of Azerbaijan, including Goyarkh, Chilaburt, Yarimja villages in Tartar, Shiklar, Javahirli, Kangarli, Seyidli, Yusifjanli, Marzili villages in Aghdam, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand, Ashagi Veysalli, Garvand, Garakhanbayli, Ashagy Seyidahmadli, Gorgan, Kurdlar, Horadiz villages in Fuzuli, Nuzgar, Mehdili villages in Jabrayil, as well as unnamed hills in Goranboy, Tartar and Khojavand districts,” the ministry added.
According to Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency, the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan indicated that Armenia is violating ceasefire continuesly since May 30 and the Army and positions of Azerbaijan came under fire 103 times on May 31 and 82 times on June 2, 2018.
It is pertinent to mentioned that the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia is continued since 1988 and Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. A ceasefire agreement was established in 1994 followed by peace negotiations but Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
