EuropeImran Khan urges British High Commissioner to warn Altaf Hussain

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday told the British High Commissioner Adam Thompson that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain is a UK citizen and his statements were against British law and that action should be taken against it.

Adam Thompson had arrived at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital on Friday evening to enquire about the health of PTI chief Imran Khan, who is recovering from an injury suffered during his election campaign.

Imran also told the British High Commissioner that the UK government should issue a warning to the MQM chief.

The British High Commissioner on Wednesday said that Pakistan should take serious notice against Altaf Hussain’s remarks about separating Karachi.

Thompson told newsmen that the London metropolitan police have received countless complaints by hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens against Altaf Hussain’s remarks and are investigating into them.

“Under British laws promoting hatred and violence is liable to punishment and Altaf Hussain’s statments must be taken seriously,” Thomson said.
