Talking to media representatives after chairing a meeting of heads of attached departments of the ministry at the interior ministry in Islamabad on Tuesday, the minister said that 14 terrorists who attacked the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Badaber Camp last Friday had their links in Afghanistan.

The interior minister pointed out that Afghanistan blames Pakistan for any terrorist incident on its soil. He said that such irresponsible statements could harm bilateral relations.

On Friday, at least 29 people including Pakistan army captain Asfandyar Bukhari and 23 PAF personnel were martyred when a group of terrorists attacked the PAF Camp in Peshawar’s Badaber area.

Later, the military and civilian leadership said that the attackers of Badaber had come from Afghanistan and the attack was planned and coordinated from the neighboring country.

However, the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday and condemned the terrorist attack at the PAF base in Peshawar. The Afghan president said that his country would never allow its land to be used against Pakistan by anyone.

Nisar further told media that a committee comprising officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Finance Ministry, Intelligence Agencies and the State Bank of Pakistan is being formed to check terrorist financing.
