Afghanistan refutes claims that its territory is being used to plan terror attacks inside Pakistan
Kabul: Afghanistan has categorically refuted claims that its territory is being used to plan terror attacks inside Pakistan. A spokesman of Ministry of Defence refuted claims that Taliban terrorists are planning attack inside Pakistan while staying in Afghanistan. General Dawlat Wazirir, who is a spokesman for the ministry of defense said that the government of Afghanistan will not let its territory be used against its neighbors or any other country.
“There is no faction or group that is using the territory of Afghanistan against any other country”, claimed General Dawlat Wazirir. This statement from Afghan Defence ministry is shocking after the meetings of Chief of Afghan Army with Chief of Pakistan Army along with NATO chief of Afghanistan because it was confirmed in the meeting that Afghanistan land is being used for planning and making attacks inside Pakistan and Pakistan placed irrefutable evidences to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Afghan Chief of the Army Staff.
It may be mentioned that the Chief of Pakistani Army Gen. Raheel Sharif visited Kabul on December 17 and met with the Afghan military officials to discuss the possibility of a joint military operation by Afghan and Pakistan armed forces. Afghan media reported that Gen Raheel Sharif also discussed the possibility of “hot pursuit” by Pakistan Army if Kabul does not take action against Taliban leadership sitting in Kunar valley. The visit was in reference to attack of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Army Public School Peshawar that claimed lives of over 132 school students mostly under the age of 14.
The top level conversation were held among Afghanistan, Pakistan and ISAF leadership in Islamabad on 23 December over the issue of taking joint action against TTP leadership sitting in Kunar valley since last one year and planning and executing attacks inside Pakistan. General Sher Mohammad Karimi, Army of Afghanistan came to Rawalpindi and met Army chief of Pakistan and promised co-operation to root out terrorists from their countries. They met in Pakistan on 23 December 2014 in the presence of Nato chief in Afghanistan General John Campbell.
