ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the Afghan agencies are patronizing Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah, who has been carrying out subversive activities in Pakistan from Afghanistan.
In an interview with a private news channel, the minister said that the Taliban Chief Mullah Fazlullah is present in Afghanistan and perpetrating terrorist activities against Pakistan rightly under the nose of Afghan administration.
The defence minister said that terrorist incidents in Pakistan have connections inside Afghanistan.
On Sunday night, the Afghan forces resorted to unprovoked firing at Torkham border in Khyber Agency which caused death of Major Jawad Ali Changezi. His funeral was offered in Peshawar on Tuesday in which the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and other senior Army officers also participated.
Talking about the death of Major Jawad Ali Changezi, Khawaja Asif said that his martyrdom will not go in waste.
The minister said that the enemy wants to sabotage the success of anti-terror operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said that the international community has acknowledged achievements and success of the operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Asif said that Pakistan Army is successfully fighting against terrorism and it has achieved immense success in war against terrorism.
“Our forces maintained peace not only in the tribal areas but also in cities and streets,” he added.
