KABUL: A trip of Afghan military to Pakistan has been called off in response to “unacceptable Pakistani shelling” in the country’s eastern province of Kunar, Afghan Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

An eleven-member team of Afghan National Army (ANA) officers were due to visit Quetta at the invitation of the Pakistan Army to take part in a simulation military exercise and headquarters drills at the Quetta Staff College, an Afghan Foreign Ministry statement said.

“This visit will no longer take place due to the resumption of unacceptable Pakistani artillery shelling against different parts of Kunar province from across the Durand Line on Monday and Tuesday (March 25 and 26),” the statement said.
