Talagang, Pakistan: Rescue operation is still underway to transport injured persons to hospitals at Dhok Pathan, Talagang in Chakwal where a bus fell down in a ravine, killing 26 passengers at the spot.

Bus was carrying 90 participants of Raiwind Tablighi Jamaat Ijtima (Raiwind Tablighi Jamaat Ijtima) and was going to Raiwind from Kohat.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed civil administration to shift injured persons to hospitals without delay.

Injured passenger Juma Gull Khan said that driver of the bus was over-speeding the bus and failed to negotiate a turn before a ravine bridge.

“Driver was over-speeding the bus and I was worried because road was a single way and narrow. I remember nothing after bus tilted and fell in ravine. Local people came to rescue after a long time because area was far away from any town”, commented Zair Khan while talking to a journalist in district hospital.

This is not first time that a bus had serious accident of participants of Tableeghi Ijtema Raiwind rather such accidents took place in past also. Buses from Khayber Pakhtun Khawa province usually travel to Tableeghi Ijtama at late evenings.
