Islamabad: Total 501 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of the Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 08 lives were lost and 405 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 180 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 184 drivers, 17 underage drivers, 91 pedestrians and 305 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 111 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 118 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 49 RTAs in Faisalabad with 59 victims and Multan remained at third position with 35 RTAs and 41 victims.

The details further show that total 593 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 484 males and 109 females, while age group of the victims show that  94 were under 18 year of age, 341 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 158 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 392 motorbikes, 57 auto rickshaws, 57 motor cars, 13 vans, 02 passenger buses, 10 trucks and 78 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
