ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 5,082 smart lockdowns are in place across the Country as part of initiatives to curtail the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a meeting in Islamabad on Monday, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) was informed that 1,459 smart lockdowns are in place in Punjab, 206 in Sindh, 182 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,205 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), and 30 in Gilgit-Baltistan while there is a complete lockdown in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) till December 6.
The forum was informed that the COVID positivity ratio is 8.53 percent.
The health experts briefed the meeting on the disease pattern, its spread in various areas, and enforcement measures being taken to contain the pandemic.

Meanwhile, as the second wave of Coronavirus intensifies in Pakistan, 40 more deaths and 2,839 new cases of infection were reported throughout the Country in the last 24 hours.
The ratio of positive cases has also risen to 8.5 percent in a day.
The death toll in the Country has reached 8,025 while 398,024 patients stand recovered from the pandemic.
There are now 48,576 active Coronavirus cases in the Country.
