SANAA, Yemen: As the Muslims in Arab countries and some other parts of the world are celebrating Eidul Azha on Thursday, two suicide blasts ripped through a mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa which left at least 25 people dead.
The reports said that the explosions took place at the al-Balili Mosque in al-Safia neighborhood in Sanaa where two suicide bombers detonated their explosives when Muslims were offering Eidul Azha prayers.
It was further reported that the mosque was run by Shia Houthi rebels and as a result of bombings, several people also sustained injuries who were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
The reports also said that the suicide bombers were wearing women’s clothes when they entered the mosque.
No terror group immediately claimed responsibly for the bombings. However, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has previously been involved in terror acts in the Arab country.
The blasts occurred when Muslims in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States are celebrating Eidul Azha, the annual Islamic festival of Eidul Azha or the Festival of Sacrifice which marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
