BANGKOK: A tour bus plunged into a mountain ravine in Wang Nuea district in Thailand’s Lampang province, killing at least 21 passengers and injuring 18 others, police said.

The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the tour bus which was returning from a Buddhist temple visit, Police Col Somdet Tossaporn said.

Somdet said that the bus fell about 30 metres into the ravine on a curvy rural road in Wang Nuea, adding that the driver is facing charges of causing deaths by reckless driving.
