ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Coronavirus Cases continue to rise in Pakistan once again as 1,808 people were confirmed having been infected and 34 died in the last 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) data revealed on Thursday.

It is the highest number of Cases since July 18 which had witnessed 1,918 infections and 47 deaths.

In addition to infections, yesterday’s fatalities were also the highest since July 26 when 35 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives.

As per the NCOC data, 36,686 tests were performed in the last 24 hours to diagnose the virus which found 1,808 people infected with a positivity rate of 4.93 percent.

With fresh Cases emerging, now the total number of infected persons in the Country since February 26 has mounted to 349,992, 7,055 people have died of the virus while 320,849 patients have recovered now.

The recovery ratio which had once climbed to over 96 percent has now dropped to 91.7 percent.

To date, in total 4,810,182 COVID-19 tests have been conducted throughout the Country.

Meanwhile, talking to a Private News Channel, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the second wave of Coronavirus can be controlled through collective resolve and by taking responsibilities as one nation.

Dr. Faisal Sultan said that without an iota of doubt the severity of this wave has not been taken seriously by the majority of the people whereas it was time when more vigorous actions at regional and national levels are needed.

The Special Assistant said that the government’s decision to limit outdoor activities show government’s commitment to curtail the COVID-19 pandemic.
