DHAKA: A Bangladeshi court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to 150 Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) personnel for the massacre of the 74 people including 57 top and mid-ranking army officers during February 2009 uprising at the BDR headquarters in Dhaka.

The court also sent at least another 350 soldiers to jail for their role in the uprising.

Earlier, 813 BDR personnel detained in the mutiny case were produced before the makeshift court at Bakshibazar in Dhaka on Tuesday morning under tight security.
