Yet again South Africa failed to put a decent score on the board, costing the top ranked team immensely as AB de Villiers’ men are out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 now following an eight-wicket loss to India.

Much had been anticipated prior to the commencement of the ODI between South Africa and India at the Oval on Sunday that Proteas would come hard at India in the crucial encounter.

However, things didn’t happen as it was being expected and the whole South African team was bowled out for just 191 runs in 44.3 overs. Even though Quinton de Kock and Hashmi Amla gave a 76 runs opening stand with 53 and 35 runs respectively. AB de Villiers looked good in his short stay at the crease but an unfortunate run out cost his wicket.

Subsequently, South Africa continued losing wickets in short interval and its last eight wickets were lost for just 51 runs. Three of South African batsmen including AB de Villiers, David Miller and Imran Tahir were run out.

Unlike the last performance against Sri Lanka, Indian bowlers fully backed by fielders did fantastic job in restricting South Africa to a small total on a good batting surface.

While chasing a moderate target, India lost in-form Rohit Sharma early but then Shikhar Dhawan along with Captain Virat Kohli established a 128-run partnership for second wicket before the former got out for 78.

In the end, India comfortably reached the target for the loss of two wickets in 38 overs with Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh still at the crease on 76 and 23 runs respectively.

With the win, India qualified for the 2nd Semi Final to be played against Bangladesh at Birmingham on June 15.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
