RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) again resorted to unprovoked firing at Sialkot Working Boundary on Saturday that left a girl killed and a boy injured.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that 13-year-old Sumaira embraced martyrdom while an 8-year-old boy Mursaleen sustained injuries in the intermittent firing by the BSF in Shakargarh sector.

The ISPR said that Pakistani Rangers effectively responding to the Indian firing in a befitting manner.

Earlier on Friday, the prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz addressed a letter to the Indian minister of external affairs Shushma Swaraj to lodge protest on the killing of two soldiers of the Punjab Rangers in Zafarwal Sector.

On December 31, 2014, the Indian BSF troops invited the personnel of Punjab Rangers for a flag meeting. However, the unsuspecting soldiers were greeted with a volley of unprovoked fire, causing severe injuries to two soldiers who later died.

Pakistan called upon India for an immediate investigation into killing of two soldiers of Punjab Rangers in Zafarwal Sector and bringing the perpetrators to justice, according to the Foreign Office.
