ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: While referring to investigation into Panama Papers allegations, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Daniyal Aziz on Thursday said that guilty persons should be punished stringently, though he argued Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s name in the database was based on lies while his children are not members of the Parliament.
Talking to a private news channel, Daniyal Aziz said that those persons whose names have been mentioned in Panama Papers should appear before the Commission for being members of the Parliament.
Daniyal said that name of the prime minister was not in Panama Leaks but he is being asked to come to the Parliament and face the music. However, he added, names of certain members of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been mentioned in Panama Papers but they did not come to the Parliament
The PML-N lawmakers further said that it was imperative to make nation aware of the fact that International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) committed mistakes besides including worn data in Panama Leaks.
“ICIJ is frequently committing mistakes in the Panama leaks and they have also included wrong data about Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in the Leaks and we have pinpointed these mistakes as well,” he said.
Daniyal Aziz said that that ICIJ changed the entire details by inserting a single line that the sheet had been updated.
“We challenged them that this is not updating, rather these are factual errors”, he added.
