ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Special Envoy of the President of Maldives Aishath Azima Shakoor held a meeting with the Adviser to the Prime Minster on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad on Thursday during which she appreciated Pakistan’s support for her country at regional and international fora.
During the meeting which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed Pakistan-Maldives relations and other issues of mutual interest and regional cooperation.
The adviser and special envoy expressed satisfaction over the growth in bilateral relations and agreed to further increase the momentum through high level interactions.
The special envoy expressed her deep sympathy and condolences for the deceased and bereaved families of the Lahore blast.
Aishath Azima Shakoor further said that Maldives stands with Pakistan in this hour of grief. The Adviser conveyed the gratitude of Pakistan leadership for the messages of sympathy and condolences received from the President of Maldives. She appreciated the support Pakistan has been extending to her country at regional and international fora.
In his remarks, the adviser noted that relations between Pakistan and Maldives are marked by understanding, warmth and commonality of interests. He wished peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of the Maldives.
