ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel on Saturday discussed involvement of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in internal affairs of Pakistan especially in Balochistan with the visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
In a meeting held in Islamabad on Saturday, the two dignitaries discussed matters related to regional security and Pakistan-Iran relations.
The two also held a discussion regarding issues related to border security and connectivity.
The Iranian president paid rich tributes to the professionalism of Pakistan Army and its phenomenal achievements in operation Zarb-e-Azb.
While the COAS highlighted the challenges being faced by Pakistan and discussed involvement of the Indian spy agency RAW in internal affairs of Pakistan especially in Balochistan.
On Thursday, the security forces conducted an intelligence guided operation near the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman and arrested a serving Officer of RAW who had earlier been an employee in Indian Navy.
Later, the Foreign Office summoned the Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale and lodged strong protest with India over the involvement of RAW agency in subversive activities in Pakistan.
“The Indian High Commissioner was summoned by the Foreign Secretary today (25th March 2016) and through a demarche conveyed our protest and deep concern on the illegal entry into Pakistan by a RAW officer and his involvement in subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Friday.
