ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The committee constituted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Chairman to review the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Ehtesab Commission Amendment Ordinance met Monday to discuss the law comprehensively, particularly in light of the experience over the last couple of years.
In the light of the discussions which took place at the meeting, it was felt that comprehensive amendments are required in the existing law in order to make it more simple, workable and effective, says a statement issues here on Monday.
Consequently, the amendments made vide the Ordinance will be withdrawn by the KPK Cabinet, and a detailed amendment bill will be introduced in the KPK Assembly which ensures that the law would be effective, comprehensive and strengthen the process of independent accountability.
Therefore, the committee has been directed by the Chairman to expedite the process of drafting the amendment bill to be presented before the KPK Assembly.
It was further decided that in the meantime the search & scrutiny committee will initiate the process for selection of the new Director General of the KPK Ehtesab Commission.
