100 more people succumb to COVID-19 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 5,139 people tested positive for Coronavirus, and 100 infected patients breathed their last in the last 24 hours across the Country, the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday morning showed.

In the last 24 hours, 49,069 people were tested and 5,139 of them turned out to be Coronavirus carriers, recording a national positivity ratio of 10.47%.

The statistics showed that on April 9, 57 COVID-19 patients passed away in Punjab, 33 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4 each in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 2 in Sindh.

To date, in total 715,968 COVID-19 Cases have been reported in Pakistan, and out of them, 268,284 belonged to Sindh, 245,923 to Punjab, 97,318 to KPK, 64,902 to ICT, 20,178 to Balochistan, 14,260 to AJK, and 5,103 to Gilgit-Baltistan.

Whereas out of a total of 15,329 deaths caused by the virus so far in the Country, 6,908 have been recorded in Punjab, 4,523 in Sindh, 2,586 in KPK, 601 in ICT, 395 in AJK, 213 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Likewise, so far 627,561 patients have recovered from the virus across the Country with a recovery ratio of 87.7%.

Currently, there are 73,078 COVID patients which are under treatment in the Country.
