Islamabad:  This has been confirmed by the authorities of Waqt Television Channel that its Producer programming Faheem Khan has been custody of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Islamabad. Information were spread through twitter by an investigative journalist of Islamabad.

He was taken into custody on the complaint of a businessman, Shahid Hamid, a resident of Sector F-8, who informed police that an unidentified man called him introducing himself as a leader of TTP and demanded Rs10 million as extortion or ransom. According to the businessman, the caller threatened that he would be killed or kidnapped if he failed to pay the ransom amount to the TTP.

The suspect, during investigation, confessed to his crime, saying that he had twice received ransom or extortion from businessmen of Islamabad on his own by using the name of TTP.

According to Margalla PoliceFaheem Khan, son of Anas Khan, hailing from Wah Cantonment, was traced and arrested in connection with the FIR Number 156/14, lodged with the Margalla Police Station, adding that he had been making calls to demand extortion by using the name of TTP. Police said that he was traced through his cell phone, and he had confessed to his crime.

When contacted Waqt Television officials informed on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to comment over this case Faheem Khan came with a leading anchor of this channel as her resource producer. His case was processed on the instructions of leading Anchor so organisation did not know background of this producer, added authorities.
