QUETTA, Pakistan: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has arrested ex-chairman, Balochistan Public Service Commission Muhammad Ashraf Magsi for misuse of powers and involvement in illegal recruitment.

A spokesman for NAB Balochistan said here on Monday that a NAB team has taken Mr. Magsi in the custody and he has been shifted to NAB investigation center for interrogation.

   

Ashraf Magsi, former chairman of Balochistan Public Service Commission was arrested by the NAB for misuse of powers, involvement in illegal recruitment of two daughters, one son and several other persons.

“The accused minted money in providing his help to several persons in illegal recruitment in government departments,” the spokesman said.

He said that a NAB investigation team had been interrogating the accused.”Mr. Magsi was taken in the custody by the NAB following intelligence information of his involvement in illegal recruitment,” he said. Further probe was underway.

The NAB spokesman further said that NAB Balochistan had accelerated its efforts to arrest the accused in massive financial corruption in different government departments.
