Kyiv, Ukraine: At the exhibition “Arms and Security-2019”,  Ukraine exhibited Next Generation Anti-ship Supersonic Missile that can strike its target with 2000-2500 kilometers per hour speed.

The missile is the development of the Dnieper Design Bureau “South” and has enhanced capability Ukraine to strike its enemy strongly if needed.

“The speed of the new rocket is about 2000-2500 kilometers per hour. Such missiles will be in service with the SU-27 and SU-24M aircraft, which are in service with the Ukrainian army”, said military experts.

According to developers of missile “Молнии” (Lightning), it will require minimal re-equipment of aircraft for installation. In addition, the rocket can be equipped with high-explosive and high-explosive penetrating warheads.

Experts say that it will be difficult to find systems that can protect against “Молнии”.

Lightning can be used if needed by Ukraine to counter the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Russian flotilla in the Sea of Azov.

Historically, Ukraine ruled the world in Missile Technology when it was part of former Soviet Union and it remained as one of the best missile developer of the world after its Independence.

Ukraine at the time of its Independence was also second largest owner of nuclear warheads but disarmed itself under Budapest Memorandum.

On December 5, 1994 the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Britain and the United States signed a memorandum to provide Ukraine with security assurances in connection with its accession to the NPT as a non-nuclear weapon state.

Ironically, one of the signatory of this accord annexed Ukrainian Crimea as Russia unilaterally occupied Crimea in year 2014. Two other signatories United States and Britain failed to save Ukraine from Russian aggression.
