Monitoring Desk: Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett flew on Saturday secretly to Moscow at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reports Israeli media.

Russian and Israeli media report that Bennett briefed Zelensky by phone after Saturday’s meeting with President Putin that lasted for three hours.

The office of the Israeli prime minister stated the White House was informed in advance about Bennett’s meeting with Putin.

The Israeli prime minister traveled on Saturday from Moscow to Berlin to update German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Media reports suggest that the mediation effort started at the request of the Ukrainian president.
