LAHORE: Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen and Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram have dismissed rumours of tying knot, saying that the media reports are ‘absolute rubbish’.

Thirty-seven year old Sushmita Sen clarified in her micro-blogging site Twitter, declaring that they both have been good friends for long and nothing more than that.

The actress accused the media for being so irresponsible and said that she is really fed up with these rumours and speculations made in the media.

Meanwhile, Wasim Akram also had a similar opinion denying the rumours and said that he wants to devote himself to his children and is not planning to get married at present.

Wasim Akram, whose wife Huma died in October 2009, said that the media and the people should not only respect his privacy but also think of Sushmita who is a very charming and honest lady and a fine human being.

The famed paceman has been linked constantly by the media to the 1994 Miss Universe since they both appeared as judges in 2008 Indian dance show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena

He said that he enjoyed working along with the Bollywood actress in the show as she is a thorough professional and presents herself gracefully.

Pakistan television channels had also splashed the story, hotly anticipating another high-profile cross-border union after the 2010 wedding of Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza.
