Uzbek Embassy in Pakistan to Screen Movie “Islam Khuja” at PNCA on Jan 21

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Embassy of the Republic Uzbekistan in Collaboration with the Office of Mayor of Islamabad will present the screening of the Uzbek Historical Movie “Islam Khuja” at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on January 21.

The movie “Islam Khuja” will be screened at PNCA Auditorium Hall from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The films returns the viewers to Khorezm Kingdom at the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th Century. The movie is based on the investigation of a young researcher on the mysterious death of the Great Prime Minister Islam Khuja, who served as the last Khiva Khan (King).

Islam Khuja enjoyed greater respect and political weight than the actual King. He conducted educational, economic and cultural reforms that threatened the ruling elite.

The movie is based on real historical facts and documentaries.

The Uzbekistan Embassy in Pakistan is working very proactively to promote the Uzbek culture and history under the ambassador Furqat A. Sidikov. Besides, the ambassador has also played a pivotal role in further cementing the existing Pak-Uzbek bilateral relations.

Both Pakistan and Uzbekistan have cordial relationship which was established when the latter became independent in late 1991 following the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
