RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A 78-member Pakistan tri-services military band performed at the International Military Music Festival “Spasskeya Tower 2015”, held in Russia as part of celebrations to mark 868th birthday of Moscow City.

The festival was held at Moscow’s Red Square September 6 to 13 at Moscow’s Red Square.

In a press release issued on Monday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Pakistan military band was accompanied by 20 members of Frontier Corps, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent for Chitrali / Khattak dance.

“78 members of Pakistan tri-services military band along with 20 members of Frontier Corps, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa contingent for Chitrali / Khattak dance enthralled audience by their spectacular performance at International Military Music Festival, Spasskeya Tower Festival, held from 6 – 13 September 2015 at Moscow, Russia,” the ISPR said.

The International Military Music Festival parade take place annually in the early September with best Russian and International military orchestras performing together at Moscow’s Red Square for nine days.

“Pakistan tri-services band performed at Sokolniki Park and played ceremonial and marching tunes including the National Anthem and patriotic songs,” the ISPR said.

The ISPR said that the performance of Pakistani band was acknowledged as the best and admired by all.

The festival unites the best military bands, ceremonial units and Folklore groups from different countries. Owing to the festival, military musicians figure as the ambassadors of peace and mutual respect between the people representing the diversity of national artistic and military traditions.

Lieutenant General Zamir Ul Hassan Shah, Adjutant General of Pakistan Army witnessed the closing ceremony of International Military Music Festival held on Sunday.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
