MUMBAI: The Chennai Express star’s Deepika Padukone epic costume drama is all set to compete with the Krrish 3 actor’s upcoming musical drama on November 15.
Another case of one-upmanship in Bollywood town is raising its ugly head. Latest reports suggest that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela and Vishwas Patil’s Rajjo are set to release on November 15 on same day this year. Incidentally, the Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer was set to enjoy a solo release in the coming festive season, however now the makers of Kangna Ranaut starrer Rajjo have announced to release their film on the same date.
“I was waiting for an apt time to bring the film. Even though the main character Kangna plays a Mujra wali in the film, it isn’t somber or depressing by any means,” says the movie director Vishwas. Rajjo would incidentally be arriving 11 days after the release of Krrish 3 (November 3) in which Kangna will be seen in the real action avatar.
Few people know why Kangna wants Rajjo to release the same day as Ramleela. The Krrish 3 actor says, “Rajjo is really close to my heart and I am glad it is being released this festive season. As for competition with other films, there would be one every week in any case. I am sure my producers are taking a good call and it comes from the trust and confidence they have in the project. I am proud of the film and my work. The film is special and it will fetch an audience of its own. I believe in Vishwas Patil and music director Uttam Singh.”
Considering that Dippy is riding high on the success of her past two films – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express, wethinks there’s hardly any competition for her, as Kangna Ranaut is keeping a low profile for some time now. But that doesn’t take away the fact that Ranaut must have put in a lot of hard work for Rajjo.
It would be interesting to see the two stunning B-town babes Kangy and DP playing key roles in their respective films, so with such talent and glamour a clash in the offering is certainly inevitable. We can’t wait for the contest to begin!
