Humayun Saeed is one of the senior actors in the Pakistan drama industry. He has given us so many projects to entertain us the best way throughout. From acting to direction and production, Humayun is remarkable. Now his wife and daughter have also joined him in the field of production and they are literally doing wonders.
According to details, the actor has reportedly denied back to back offers from prominent producers in India. In an interview with The News back in July 2015, the Bin Roye actor openly clarified:
“I’m in no mood to work in Bollywood right now. I have no issues working in Bollywood, but it has to be a really strong project to sway me. Otherwise, I’m feeling no urge to go now.”
2. Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Mustafa is another big name in the Pakistan drama industry who is not only a great actor but also a phenomenal host and producer. He is one of those celebrities of the country who are devoted to excellence no matter how tough it becomes to reach that level. Well… Fahad also revealed that he received a movie proposal from the neighbouring country, however, he preferred to work in his homeland.
3. Sanam Jung
The most elegant and talented actress Sanam Jung is working in a negative role these days for the very first time in the drama serial Qaraar. The feedback on her performance is though that of a mixed opinion, however, everyone admires her positive roles she has been doing throughout. When Bollywood knocked on Sanam Jung’s door, she directly refused the offer. During an interview with Aurora Magazine, Sanam told:
“When I said I would not do bold scenes, they replied they could ‘cheat’, but even if they cheat a scene, the audience will think I have done it. So Bollywood is out of the question.”
4. Hamza Ali Abbasi
As we know that Hamza Ali Abbasi is one of the most patriotic celebrities, so it is obvious that it will be a big no from his side ever for Bollywood offers. When Meekal Zulfiqar debuted in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar’s Baby, Hamza took it to social media to reveal that he was initially offered the role in the movie. However, he turned it down as it had anti-Pakistani content.
5. Shaan Shahid – One of the 10 Pakistani Celebrities to Refuse Offer!
Another in the list of Pakistan’s prominent patriotic actors, the veteran Shaan Shahid also refused an offer from the neighbouring country. Shaan is a strong believer in the talent that thrives in his nation. In fact, he is the one to openly criticize those celebrities who accept Bollywood offers. Did you know Shaan refused to work for the famous Bollywood movie Ghajini in which he was asked to play a villainous avatar? He revealed this story as:
“I refused India once. When I read the role, I knew that they needed a new terrorist face and I said no. In Pakistan, I live in people’s hearts. That’s a huge responsibility. I cannot let them down.”
6. Faisal Qureshi
A very few people might be having an idea that the legendary actor Faisal Qureshi also got an offer from Bollywood. He is also one of those actors who strongly support the ‘Anti-Bollywood’ bandwagon. In an interview, Faisal opened up about the offer saying:
“I’ve had 2-3 offers, but the scripts weren’t to my liking. I don’t want to disappoint my fans by doing that doesn’t live up to their expectation.”
7. Mehwish Hayat – One of the 10 Pakistani Celebrities to Refuse Offer!
Mehwish Hayat is one of the most famous actresses in the Pakistan drama industry. She is also a Sitara-e-Imtiaz holder. The actress has proved herself super-talented in different dramas and movies and that’s the reason she got fame in a limited time period. However, when it comes to the Bollywood offers, Mehwish Hayat simply refused to work for that. According to some reports, she was offered a role in Jut James Bond to star across actor Jimmy Shergill but she didn’t go with it.
8. Sheheryar Munawar
In a recent interview, Sheheryar Munawar also revealed that he got a direct offer from Anil Kapoor to work in Bollywood. However, Sheheryar didn’t accept it following the bold nature of the character. He believes in quality work and not in quantity. That’s the reason he has done a total of 10 projects in the ten years of his career.
9. Fatima Effendi
Fatima Effendi also revealed that she got an offer of a bold role by Bollywood director Anees Bazmee. Although the director is a big name behind comedy films like Singh is King, Ready, and No Entry, Fatima did not even think twice about turning down the offer. She expressed:
“Anees Bazmee called me and praised my drama serial and asked me to work in his film. I asked him about the story and the character I’d portray but refused to sign the movie because it required me to play a bold character.”
10. Shehnaz Sheikh
The legendary senior actress Shehnaz Sheikh is also among those 10 Pakistani celebrities who refused Bollywood offers. The actress got an offer from Bollywood when she was really popular owing to her brilliant performances in Tanhaiyan and Ankahi. Shehnaz got an offer to play the lead in Raj Kapoor’s film “Henna”. However, she refused it and later on Zeba Bakhtiar played this role.
