Elections 2018PTI asks ECP to extend polling time till 08:00 pm

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to extend the voting time of 2018 general elections till 08:00 pm instead of 05:00 pm on July 25 to facilitate the voters in extremely hot weather conditions.

In a letter written to the Secretary ECP, the PTI Central Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry said that a strong heatwave is gripping the Country and 05:00 pm has been fixed as the polling time for general elections which are now less than 30 days away.

Fawad Chaudhry said that it would be difficult for voters to throng polling stations from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm under severe hot weather. Therefore, he added, that it would be better if the polling time is extended till 08:00 pm on July 25.

The PTI Central Information Secretary said that in the extended time, intensity of hot weather would have been lessened and it would help old-aged men to cast their vote with ease.PTI asks ECP to extend polling time till 08:00 pm
