ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Election Tribunal in Islamabad on Wednesday allowed the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to contest the election from NA-53 Islamabad-II, rejecting the ruling of the Returning Officer (RO).

Earlier in the day, the Chairman PTI Imran Khan reached the Appellate Tribunal.

Imran Khan fulfilled the clause “N” of the form in which he wrote that he established Cancer hospital and NUML University.

Earlier on June 26, the Election Tribunal judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of Islamabad High Court (IHC) also gave go ahead to the former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Ayesha Gulalai for NA-53 Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the Election Tribunal disqualified Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from NA-57 Rawalpindi-I and the PTI Spokesman Fawad Chaudhry from NA-67 Jhelum-II.

The appeal against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was filed by Masood Ahmed Abbasi, registering an objection that the former prime minister had illegally occupied the forest of Lawrence College in Murree.

"We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
