ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza on Thursday presided over an important meeting to review the security measures in 2018 general elections at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Islamabad, in which it was decided that ballot papers would be printed and delivered under the supervision of Pakistan army. 

It was also decided that Pakistan army personnel would be deputed over the Press, Printing Corporation and Postal Foundation Printing Press.

Sources said that in the ECP meeting, the Elections Commissioners presented the report about the polling stations to the ECP, and it was decided that three to four CCTV Cameras would be installed at the 20,000 most sensitive polling stations.

Sources said that the ECP meeting also decided that police and Rangers personnel would be deployed at polling stations on polling day to ensure the peaceful environment while Pakistan army and Rangers personnel would be deployed at sensitive and most sensitive polling stations.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission issued directives to the Defence Ministry.

The members of the ECP, the Director General Military Operations, the Defence Secretary, the Chief Secretaries and Inspectors General of Police (IGPs) of the four provinces attended the meeting.
