ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The President All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Dr Muhammad Amjad has quit the race for NA-53 Islamabad-II in favour of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
In this regard, the president APML held a meeting with the Chairman PTI Imran Khan at the Chairman Secretariat in Banigala, Islamabad on Monday, and announced to withdraw in favour of Imran Khan in NA-53 Islamabad-II.
As many as 34 Candidates including the Chairman PTI Imran Khan, the President APML Dr Amjad, Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians’ (PPPP) Syed Sibt Ul Haider Bukhari, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and Mutthida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) Mian Muhammad Aslam were vying for general elections 2018 from NA-53 Islamabad-II.
The PTI’s Candidate in NA-54 Islamabad-III Asad Umar was also present in the meeting.
Dr Amjad also announced to withdraw his Candidate Muhammad Ashraf Shehzad Khan from NA-54 Islamabad-III in favour of Asad Umar.
The president APML also said that even he would not contest the upcoming general from NA-148 Sahiwal-II
The Chairman PTI Imran Khan thanked Dr Amjad for his support in general elections.
