Eight dead, 40 injured in road accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: At least eight persons were killed and 40 others injured in three separate road accidents in the Punjab on Wednesday morning.

The first incident occurred when a bus with more than 30 passengers on board overturned on Kala Khatai road near Lahore on Wednesday morning, killing at least five persons and injuring 18 others.

The incident took place due to dense fog on the highway. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Shahdara and Lahore.

Separately, at least three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when a passenger bus collided with a rickshaw at Duniyapur Road in Lodhran.

Likewise, 20 persons were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Muridke. The bus was heading from Lahore to Narowal.
