ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: It is likely that ‘Eidul Fitr’ will be celebrated across Pakistan on Saturday (July 18), according to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council.

‘Eidul Fitr’ marks the end of holy fasting month of ‘Ramazan’ and is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on the first day of ‘Shawwal’.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi with its Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman on Friday evening for sighting of the ‘Shawwal’ moon.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has said that that there is a high chance of ‘Shawwal’moon sighting in Pakistan on Friday and ‘Eidul Fitr’ would be celebrated on Saturday, the 18th of July.

The federal government has already announced five ‘Eidul Fitr’ holidays from July 17 to July 21 for employees of government organisations, semi-government organisations, banks and educational institutions.
