RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that 60 Colleges and 3 Universities have been established in the Rawalpindi district while the government is working to establish an IT University in the Constituency.

While addressing an event in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, the minister said that the education of girls is very crucial for the education of the coming generations.

Sheikh Rashid announced to provide Rs 1.5 million for purchasing computers for Government Associate College for Women Rawalpindi.

The interior minister further said that the government has completed the legislation to hold the next elections through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and to provide the right of vote to Overseas Pakistanis. He said that the use of EVMs in general elections will ensure free, fair, and transparent elections with credible and accurate results.

The minister said that all Pakistani Citizens living abroad will have the right to vote in the next general elections and hence will play a vital role in decision making.

Moreover, he apprised that the Federal Cabinet has approved the provision of online visa to people associated with Tableeghi groups.

Sheikh Rashid also said that the government is working to control inflation.
