LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a 20 percent reduction in private schools fee throughout the province during the ongoing vacations till May 31, 2020.

In a twitter statement on Monday, Usman Buzdar said that the fee will be received on a monthly basis.

Usman Buzdar further said that the full and timely disbursement of salaries to all schools teachers and staff members will be ensured. He said that no permission will be granted to deprive any teacher or a staff member of his/her job from any school.

In the view of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Punjab government announced the summer vacations in all provincial schools till May 31, much before the stipulated time.

By now, 1,493 people have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 in Punjab and 15 of them have died.

The most number of Coronavirus Cases have been detected in Lahore wherein 290 people were tested positive.

In Gujrat 93 cases have surfaced so far, in Rawalpindi 58, in Gujranwala 32, in Jhelum 30, in DG Khan 18, in Sialkot 17, in Faisalabad 15, in Mandi Bahauddin 14, in Nankana Sahib 13, in Bahawalnagar and Vehari 9 each, in Hafizabad 6, in Sargodha and Narowal 5 each, in Multan 4, in Bahawalpur and Lodhran 3 each, and one case each in Layyah, Okara, Attock, Khushab and Shikarpur.

CM Punjab inaugurates BSL-3 Lab in Lahore

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar today inaugurated a newly upgraded BSL-3 Lab with a capacity of 2,000 tests per day.

The Chief Minister also visited the Lab in a protective suit to appreciate the healthcare professionals working on the frontline.

The Punjab government is upgrading nine more LAB in Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Kharian, and Gujrat.
