ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The TeleSchool Channel has begun its special transmission on Tuesday for students having been deprived of attending their educational institutions by the persistent lockdown amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The TeleSchool Channel will be available on Satellite, Terrestrial and Cable. It will beam educational programs from 8 am to 6 pm every day and will deliver content from grades 1 to 12.

The Channel is a joint project of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) and the Ministry of Education.

The TeleSchool Channel will be available on Satellite, Terrestrial and Cable. It will beam educational Programs from 8 am to 5 pm every day and will deliver content from grades 1 to 12.

Earlier on Monday while formally launching the Channel, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the Country is facing an unprecedented situation in the wake of Coronavirus and the initiative will help children get the education.

The prime minister said that the imparting of knowledge through the Channel is a brilliant concept and it should continue even after the opening of schools as it will help children residing in rural areas learn.

Meanwhile in a series of tweets on Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the TeleSchool Channel will help promote literacy in the Country.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Channel will enable students to get education while staying at home due to closure of schools in the wake of Coronavirus. She said that children of far flung areas and those out of school children, who are unable to go to school for any reason, can also take advantage of the project.

The Special Assistant said that its transmissions can be viewed through satellite and antenna from 8 am to 6 pm.
