RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Punjab Education Ministry has declared Rawalpindi Division as the ‘Top Ranked Education Division’ of Punjab in new education ranking.
While five Districts of Punjab including Jhelum, Bhakkar, Pak Patten, Toba Tek Singh and Gujrat have been declared as ‘Top Education Districts’.
By virtue of having secured the distinguished position, Deputy Commissioners of five Districts, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Education Authorities, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Deputy Commissioner and CEO Education Authority will be given one-month additional pay this month as reward.
The Education Ministry has officially issued a Circular with regard to the new education ranking.
Meanwhile, the United Teachers Council (UTC) has asked the Punjab government to halt the privatization of state-run schools.
The UTC also called upon the government to abolish the Danish School System and Education Foundation in a bid to increase number of students in government schools.
The United Teachers Council was of the view that education policies, and shortage of teachers, furniture and science laboratories in schools have been the cause of record decrease of students in state-run educational institutions.
It said that the provincial government must stop the privatization of schools, and make officials working in all government departments bound to admit to their children in state-run schools.
