Founded as the University of Islamabad in 1967, it was initially dedicated to the study of postgraduate education but expanded through the 1980s to an interdisciplinary university offering undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The Quaid-i-Azam University’s (QAU) excellent record in research and teaching has placed it at the 106th spot among the best Asian Universities, according to the recently announced prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rankings.

According to the scores, QAU has achieved 43.24 points in the overall score while 94.09 in paper per faculty, 88.59 in international research network, and 80.81 in citation per paper. QS has already ranked QAU at 454th among the top 500 universities of the world.

The Vice Chancellor of the Quaid-i-Azam University Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali congratulated the faculty staff and students for achieving another milestone.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the continuous improvement in QAU’s ranking for the last two years reflects “our resolve to be Pakistan’s top-ranked university and to excel among the best universities in global rankings”.

Other than the rating of QS Quaid-i-Azam University has already ranked 67th in the Golden Age university rankings, and 75th among leading universities of Asia by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Even though QAU scored great the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) was included in the top 100 universities of Asia in the latest rankings issued by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), making it number 1 University of Pakistan.

The interesting part is that 45 Pakistani universities made it on to the list of 634 Asian universities on Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings for 2021.

NUST has been ranked at 76 in the rankings and is the only Pakistani university to make it to the top 100 list. Another 30 made it to the top 600 in Asia.
