LAHORE, Pakistan: Boys clinched all three overall top positions in the Intermediate (annual) Examination 2017 of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore.

While addressing a press conference at the Conference Room of the Lahore Board, the Chairman Lahore Board Dr. Muhammad Ismail announced the names of the positions-holders during a simple ceremony.

Muhammad Umer s/o Muhammad Arshad, Roll No. 538805 and Minaam Farooq s/o Dr Farooq Hameed Roll No. 521846 of Punjab College of Science, 151-Ferozepur Road, Lahore secured overall first and second positions respectively with 1060 and 1059 marks while overall third position was bagged by Muhammad Umer Mukhtar s/o Mukhtar Ahmed Roll No. 519529 of Punjab College for Boys, 3-KM Sargodha Road, Sheikhupura with 1052 marks.

In Pre Engineering Group (Among Boys), Muhammad Umer s/o Muhammad Arshad, Roll No. 538805 and Minaam Farooq s/o Dr Farooq Hameed Roll No. 521846 of Punjab College of Science, 151-Ferozepur Road, Lahore secured overall first and second positions respectively with 1060 and 1059 marks while overall third position was bagged by Muhammad Umer Mukhtar s/o Mukhtar Ahmed Roll No. 519529 of Punjab College for Boys, 3-KM Sargodha Road, Sheikhupura with 1052 marks.

In Pre Engineering Group (Among Girls), all three top positions were won by girls from Punjab College for Women, 27-C Noon Avenue, Muslim Town Lahore with Farheen Asif d/o Muhammad Asif Rasheed, Roll No. 528588 securing 1047 marks; Mahnoor Asad d/o Asad Bashir Roll No. 528475 with

1042 marks and Inza Naeem Gilanee d/o Asad Naeem Shah Roll No. 528779 securing 1039 marks and won First, Second and Third position respectively.

In Pre Medical Group (Among Boys), Minaam Farooq s/o Dr Farooq Hameed Roll No. 521846 of Punjab College of Science, 151-Ferozepur Road, Lahore secured first position with 1059 marks; Muhammad Umer Mukhtar S/O Mukhtar Ahmed Roll No. 519529 of Punjab College for Boys, 3-KM Sargodha Road, Sheikhupura with 1052 marks secured Second position and Omar Naeem s/o Naeem Arshad Government College University, Lahore won Third position with 1045 marks.

In Pre Medical Group (Among Girls), Unsa Miraj d/o Miraj Din Roll No. 504491 of Punjab College for Girls, 3-KM Sargodha Road, Sheikhupura bagged First Position with 1049 marks; Afra Zahid D/O Muhammad Zahid Roll No. 509691 of Government Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore won Second Position with 1044 marks while the Third Position went to Fatima Shafique d/o Muhammad Shafique Roll No. 507297 of Government college for Women Township Lahore with 1042 marks.

In General Science Group (Among Boys), First and Third positions were bagged by boys Muhammad Saad Sarfraz s/o Shahzada Muhammad Sarfraz Roll No. 559334 and Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah s/o Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Hussain Shah Roll No. 559154 of Punjab College of Information Technology 31-C Noon Avenue Muslim Town Lahore with 1022 and 996 marks respectively while Second Position was won by Muhammad Ali Bhatti s/o Shahid Iqbal Bhatti Roll No. 555648 of Government College University Lahore with 1007 marks.

In General Science Group (Among Girls), Ayesha Naeem D/O Muhammad Naeem Roll No. 548457 of Unique College for Girls 126 A New Muslim Town Lahore won First position with 1022 marks; Haleema Mustafa d/o Hafiz Ghulam Mustafa Roll No. 550210 of Punjab College for Women, Jahangir Road, Near Lal Pul Mughalpura Lahore won second position with 1017 marks while third position was shared by Midhat Kamran d/o Kamran Ishrat Roll No. 548391 and Azka Noor D/O Abdul Shakoor Roll No. 549251 of Punjab College for Women, 27-C Noon Avenue, Muslim Town Lahore with 1007 marks each.

In Commerce Group (Among Boys), all three positions were swept by boys of Punjab College of Commerce, 29-C Noon Avenue, Muslim Town Lahore namely Awais Ahmad s/o Malik Muhammad Zafar Khan Roll No. 575012, Muhammad Awais s/o Muhammad Jamil Roll No. 574456 and Hamza Saleem s/o Kamran Saleem Roll No. 576324 who won first, second and third positions respectively with 1012, 995 and 979 marks.

In Commerce Group (Among Girls), all three top positions in the group were bagged by girls of Punjab College for Women, 27-C Noon Avenue, Muslim Town Lahore as Mahnoor Bashir d/o Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Roll No. 565817 won first position with 1005 marks; Mahnoor d/o Muhammad Iftikhar Mirza Roll No. 565898 won second position with 1001 marks while Hafiza Tabinda Naeem d/o Muhammad Naeem Naseer Roll No. 565963 won third position with 996 marks.

In Humanities Group (Among Boys), the first position was won by Muhammad Naqeeb Azam s/o Muhammad Azam Roll No. 633078 of College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences, 365 M Model Town Lahore with 992 marks; Muhammad Hamza s/o Muhammad Abbas Roll No. 628239 of Oxford International College of Commerce (OIC), 6-B, Civil Lines, Sheikhupura Roll No. 628239 won second position with 977 marks while Syed Salman Ahmad Bukhari s/o Syed Muhammad Qamaruz Zaman Roll No. 641359 of Forman Christian College Ferozepur Road Lahore secured third position with 970 marks.

In Humanities Group (Among Girls), Sawera Liaqat d/o Liaqat Ali Roll No. 587047 of Government College for Women, Sangla Hill District Nankana Sahib secured first position with 993 marks; Saliha Junaid d/o Ahmad Junaid Awan Roll No. 604361 of Punjab College for Women, 27-C Noon Avenue, Muslim Town Lahore secured second position with 977 marks while Zara Tasneem d/o Muhammad Akram Roll No. 601187 of Private (Lahore) bagged third position with 964 marks.

The award ceremony for the position-holders will be held at the Falettis Hotel Egerton Road at 10:00 am on September 12 (Tuesday) while Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gilani and Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman will be chief guests on the occasion and give away medals and prizes among the distinction-holders.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners.
