LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government on Saturday approved a package for education of the children working at brick kilns.

Presiding over a meeting through video link on Saturday, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave the approval to the package which envisages monthly scholarship for the children besides free of cost provision of stationery, books and uniform.

In his remarks on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the parents will be given Rs2000 for sending their children doing labor at brick kilns to schools while the children who go to school during the current academic session will also receive Rs1000 each.

Shahbaz Sharif said that eliminating child labor at brick kilns is his mission. He said that the brick kilns owners who violate labour laws will be sent to jail.
