ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Monday launched a joint TV production training program to enhance academic standard of the multi-media-based open-distance educational courses.
Under the plan, the PTV Training Academic will impart professional training to the producers and designers of AIOU, which are engaged in development of the educational courses.
In this connection, a three-week training session has been formally started here at the University’s main campus.
Inaugurating the training process, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui announced that the AIOU would soon undertake a massive human resource professional development program for updating its academic and non-academic staff about the latest developments and techniques in their respective fields.
A Task-Force has been set up forthwith to prepare the program within a month time that will cover University-funded professional training both at national and international level.
It aimed at meeting the new challenges and abreast the staff with new fast-growing contemporary changes, he said adding “A learning organization needs to update and equip itself with new developments in the comparative era.”
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said that AIOU was actively engaged in strengthening its Institute of Educational Technology (IET) to provide efficient multi-media support to 1.3 million students across the country.
He thanked the PTV for its support in enhancing professional skill of their tv-radio production staff.
Earlier, Director IET Mir Mukhtar Ahmed Talpur highlighted the main features of the training program, hoping it will prove a milestone in the professional training of their staff on modern lines.
Director PTV Training Academic Muzammil Ahmad Khan hoped that their collaborative partnership with AIOU will be beneficial for promoting the cause of education, through multi-media support.
